We built the digital infrastructure needed to grow the Black economy. Emerald Book serves as a trusted hub for the Black community and diaspora — connecting consumers with Black-owned businesses, enabling businesses to collaborate and grow together, highlighting investment opportunities, and mapping key institutions such as banks, hospitals, schools, professional services, communities, and cultural spaces.
Track the Economy
Emerald Book tracks the growth and economic health of the Black economy through the Emerald Economic Index (EEI) — a comprehensive dashboard that monitors key metrics related to the strength of Black businesses, institutions, and economic activity. By analyzing trends in business growth, industry activity, and community development, the index provides a clearer picture of how the Black economy is evolving. These insights are shared with the community through our monthly newsletter, Emerald Pages, offering transparent, data-driven reporting on the progress and opportunities shaping the Black economy.
Uplift the People
We share weekly content that affirms the richness and diversity of Black life, provide clear context to challenge harmful myths and misinformation, and spotlight tools, businesses, and resources designed to strengthen both the Black community and the Black economy. Everything we publish is grounded in a commitment to uplift, inform, and equip Black people with knowledge that fuels personal advancement and collective economic growth.
